Title: Conversation Builder: Tourism
Target Structure: Discussion Skills
Level: Intermediate
Time: 45 minutes
   
Description: Travel always works well as a conversation topic. This worksheet is designed for intermediate level students and above.

The questions listed are only suggestions for beginning a discussion. Depending on the dynamics of your class, you could choose to focus on questions one to five, or challenge your students with more thought-provoking questions from six to eleven.
     



 
Title: An Informal Email
Target Structure: Writing an Email
Level: Pre-Intermediate
Time: 45+ minutes
   
Description: The ability to write email in English is an important skill your students will need to master.

This worksheet looks at common expressions used in informal email messages. There's a reading, with a fill-in-the-blanks exercise, plus some comprehension questions.

The worksheet rounds off with some task-based email writing practice. Get your students to email you the homework! Alternatively, we have blank email templates which you can photocopy for use in the class.

This worksheet is for lower-intermediate students, but can be adjusted for other levels.
     



 
Title: Writing a Formal Letter
Target Structure: Formal Letter Expressions
Level: Intermediate
Time: Varies - 45 minutes
   
Description: If your students need writing practice, this worksheet will help.

It looks at writing a formal letter, and works well in both business English, and general English classes.

There is an example letter, with practice exercises to help your students master not only the expressions, but also the layout of a formally-written letter.

This worksheet is designed for intermediate-level students, but can easily be adjusted for other levels.

There's also a British-English version. (See below.) This has changes for style and letter layout.

Title: How often do you watch movies?
Target Structure: How Often / Adverbs of Frequency
Level: Elementary
Time: 45 minutes
   
Description: Taking movies as the theme, this worksheet looks at adverbs of frequency (often, usually etc.) and the pattern 'once a week'.

There's a basic conversation, with follow-up exercises, and lots of chances for your students to communicate using the language.

This worksheet is written for elementary-level students.

There's also a British English version, substituting 'cinema' for the 'movie theater', and 'film' for 'movie'.

Title: Summer Plans
Target Structure: Going to (future)
Level: Elementary
Time: 30-45 minutes
   
Description: This is a great way to teach 'going to' for future plans.

There's a conversation about a trip to Italy, followed by practice exercises, and activities to get your students speaking.

This worksheet is written for elementary-level students.
