Title: Conversation Builder: Your Job
Target Structure: Discussion / Fluency Building
Level: Intermediate +
Time: 45 minutes

Description:

If you have a class of business people - or even just one in a private lesson - this worksheet is a good way to get a work-related discussion going.

For classes with students who work in the same company or department, you can still use this handout to help them learn to talk fluently about their work.

This worksheet is written for intermediate-level classes, but can easily be adapted for other levels.

Title: Reserving a Hotel Room
Target Structure: Theme Lesson - Travel English
Level: Elementary
Time: 30 minutes

Description:

This worksheet has the basic phrases your students will need to make a reservation at a hotel.

There is a conversation, a comprehension exercise plus lots of role-play practice. There are also some discussion questions you can use to extend the topic further.

This worksheet is for elementary-level students, but will also work well in a lower-intermedate class.

This worksheet has been updated in July 2010 with a British-English version.

Title: Watching the World Cup
Target Structure: Theme Lesson - World Cup
Level: Elementary
Time: 30+ minutes

Description:

This World Cup theme lesson is a good way of reviewing some common structures in conversation. The illustrations have been updated for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Language reviewed includes:

- Can't wait (for something)
- Be interested (in something)
- Come round (to my house) ... and more

There's a conversation, practice exercises and some simple discussion questions. It's an excellent way to make your lessons topical.

The British English version (see below) has some vocabulary differences. (Particularly 'football' instead of 'soccer'.)
